Carron Sea Lock
- 'Kelpie' horse heads
The world's largest equine sculpture will be built in Scotland as two 30m horse heads will be the centrepiece in the rejuvenation of 300 hectares of land between Falkirk and Grangemouth as part of the HELIX project. The two 'Kelpie' horse heads, based on the mythical Scots creatures of the same name, will function as a boat lift at the entrance to the Forth and Clyde canal. The Kelpie heads are the brainchild of British Waterways and internationally acclaimed sculptor Andy Scott. The photographs above are of a small sample version that can be seen at the BWB Carron Sea Lock.
